The Honda 250R / 86 250r frame decals
« Last post by Carl on March 28, 2017, 12:00:34 PM »
Hi, I'm  new member, I own an 86 250r and I'm doing a restoration project. I need frame decals and I'm not able to locate any.   There was an eBay user who  making them  his stuff has become unavailable. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Replace filter on every 2nd oil change. That is an acceptable practice. Unless you remove the filter and see that it is visibly dirty, there is no reason to change it unless it makes you feel better.

The Honda 250R / Re: Best Tires for a 1984 250R?

Tires are wearable parts. If you don't like the tires you buy now, move on next time and get something different. My feeling is that the most expensive tire isn't always the best tire. I think it depends on where you are going to ride and how hard you are going to ride.

For the 1984, the part number for OEM Honda fenders is: 80100-964-013. I seriously doubt you will find them available from any suppliers. I would say they are long gone and out of production. Your choices become aftermarket rear fenders or used rear fenders.

The Honda 250R / Rear Brakes on 1984 Honda 250R
« Last post by joeshmoe on January 21, 2017, 06:14:32 AM »
Anyone have detailed info on changing/replacing rear bakes on a 1984 Honda 250R. I haven't gotten a manual yet hoping to get quick support here.

How about wearable parts, are the brake shoes the only part I will be replacing or can I expect the drum to fail regularly also? Thanks!

The Honda 250R / 1984 OEM Honda Fenders

What are the odds of finding 1984 OEM Honda Fenders?

I am trying to do a restoration that is as close to original as I possibly can and it seems like the OEM Honda fenders will pay a big role in keeping the original look and feel.

I get you you mean with the small tire tread pattern. I always feel like the ATC tires with small patterns like that won't hold up on rocky terrain if you're spinning the tires though.

I guess I will experiment with the smaller tread pattern and see how it goes. Thanks!
